CHELSEA V NEWCASTLE UNITED: BLUES AIMING TO END WRETCHED WEEK WITH VICTORY OVER IN-FORM MAGPIES AT STAMFORD BRIDGE IN PREMIER LEAGUE

It's all over, Chelsea have snatched a dramatic late victory over a resilient Newcastle side in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge! Havertz's 89th-minute goal claims all three points for the Blues to shine some light on an otherwise miserable week for Chelsea. That victory sees them tighten their grip further on third place in the table as their attention turns to the Champions League in midweek. As for Newcastle, they are back in Premier League action against Everton on Thursday and will take great confidence into that game after their valiant showing today.

Chelsea are working the ball from side-to-side in an attempt to shift the Newcastle players out of position and exploit the gaps however, those gaps are not appearing at the moment with the visitors getting numbers behind the ball and looking well drilled.

Almiron makes way for Allan Saint-Maximin who celebrated his birthday yesterday. Could he be the difference maker from the bench as Eddie Howe makes a real statement with this attacking switch.
