FULL-TIME! CHELSEA 1-0 NEWCASTLE
It's all over, Chelsea have snatched a dramatic late victory over a resilient Newcastle side in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge! Havertz's 89th-minute goal claims all three points for the Blues to shine some light on an otherwise miserable week for Chelsea. That victory sees them tighten their grip further on third place in the table as their attention turns to the Champions League in midweek. As for Newcastle, they are back in Premier League action against Everton on Thursday and will take great confidence into that game after their valiant showing today.

GOAL! CHELSEA 1-0 NEWCASTLE (HAVERTZ)
Wow, what drama and what a wonderful finish from Havertz! The German latches onto an exquisite aerial ball from Jorginho, taking the pass down and slotting the ball into the far corner of the net. Have Chelsea just snatched a dramatic late winner!? There are four minutes of additional time to be played.

YELLOW CARD FOR KOVACIC
The Croatian fouls Guimaraes in the middle of the pitch and takes the yellow card. It's been a physical game as the two sides have battled and scrapped for every ball. A draw seems like it would be a fair result based on the balance of play.

THIRD CHANGE FOR CHELSEA
An attacking change by Tuchel as Sarr makes way for Christian Pulisic with little over ten minutes of this game remaining. Can either side find an allusive goal that could prove to be the decider?

BIG CHANCE FOR HAVERTZ!
Best chance of the game for Chelsea by far! Ziyech curls a delightful ball into the box which picks out the run of Havertz, but the German heads the ball straight at Dubravka in the Newcastle goal from point-blank range. That was more like it from Chelsea.

ATTACK VERSUS DEFENCE
Chelsea are working the ball from side-to-side in an attempt to shift the Newcastle players out of position and exploit the gaps however, those gaps are not appearing at the moment with the visitors getting numbers behind the ball and looking well drilled.

CHANGE FOR NEWCASTLE
Almiron makes way for Allan Saint-Maximin who celebrated his birthday yesterday. Could he be the difference maker from the bench as Eddie Howe makes a real statement with this attacking switch.

BLUES FAR FROM CRUISING
Chelsea have been made to really work this afternoon, Newcastle have taken no nonsense and seem to be enjoying going toe-to-toe with their hosts. The visitors have still had the better chances and they may look to their bench for attacking reinforcements as the clock continues to tick down.

PENALTY CLAIM FOR CHELSEA!
Werner is put through one-v-one with Dubravka who brings the German to the floor, a penalty probably would have been given but Werner was offside. Two very close calls in both boxes in the last five minutes.

YELLOW CARD FOR ZIYECH
Ziyech is the second Chelsea man to go into the referee's notebook for a high boot just outside the penalty area. Newcastle are unable to make anything of the resulting free-kick and the pressure is off the Blues momentarily.

PENALTY CLAIM FOR NEWCASTLE!
Well, Chelsea may be fortunate to get away with that one. Chalobah has hold of Murphy who goes down under the challenge inside the penalty area. However, the referee and VAR deem that there was not enough contact to warrant a penalty. Big call.

WERNER WATCHING THE LINE
A ball over the top from Christensen picks out Werner who beat the offiside trap, but the German's touch let him down. Dubravka was quickly out at the feet of the Chelsea frontman to quash any potential threat from the hosts.

A BURN BRICK WALL
Dan Burn has been superb for Newcastle today. Kante surges forward at pace, feeds Ziyech down the right who tries to cross but Burn is there to snuff out the danger. The centre-half is leading by example thus far.

SECOND HALF GETS GOING!
We're back underway at Stamford Bridge with Newcastle getting us restarted. There are no changes for either side as the score line hangs in the balance. An early shot for Newcastle trickles wide of Mendy's far post.
