Nuno Espirito Santo says his “biggest concern” in football is the ever-increasing amount of matches and joked that looking at the current schedule makes him feel “exhausted”.

On the idea mooted by Arsene Wenger for a World Cup every two years, he said:

“What I can tell you is that everything that has been changing in football is only [towards] more and more.

“Each time a decision is made it is more games, more games. I don’t know if the players will be able to maintain their level of performance with so many games through all these seasons.

“It is my worry and my biggest concern. ut I don’t have a clear view on what is best for the game, on World Cups every two years.”
