CHANCES! This is better from Everton. Richarlison has a shot which deflects wide. The corner is played short to Gray and he fizzes a dangerous ball into the corridor of uncertainty, but a sliding Mina cannot meet it at the far post!

Richarlison feeds Doucoure and he turns and shoots just inside the box, but he snatches at his effort and his shot rolls harmlessly wide of Pickford's right post.

Saka is back on his feet and will play on at least for now.

Townsend cuts in and looks set to fire a shot away but he gets in the way of Doucoure and Arsenal win the ball back amid the confusion. Everton have been more proactive than Arsenal in looking for goal in these opening stages.

Tierney is down by the sponsorboard in some discomfort after being shoved off by Gordon. The Scotland international looks like he will be fine to continue.

Gray cuts in from the left flank and surges forward through the middle of the pitch. He gets a shot away on the run but he lashes his effort wildly over the bar.

Keane looks for Gordon who makes a late run into the box but it flies out for a goal-kick. Everton have started the better of the two sides but, in all honesty, neither have got out of second gear yet.

It's not been an electric start at Goodison Park by any means. We are yet to see a shot on goal yet but it's certainly been physical. Godfrey makes a good sliding challenge on Tomiyasu which draws cheers from the home support.

Arsenal are starting to get into a passing rhythm now with Everton sitting deep and all men behind the ball.

A slow start here as Ramsdale hoofs the ball off the pitch. Everton have had the majority of the ball so far. Godfrey bursts into the box but loses his footing before he plays a cross and the ball rolls out for a goal-kick.
