GOALLLL!!!!! Liverpool! With their first chance of the game! Naby Keita with the finish; and United are carved open, Salah is found with a penetrative pass through the lines by Firmino, and the Egyptian slides the Guinean in, who calmly slots home. The Reds of Merseyside lead.

Slick, pacy move from United; Rashford does well and finds Fred, with a good ball to find Ronaldo, who, via Greenwood, finds Fernandes in space! And the Portguese hashes the shot high and wide with plenty of time and space. What a chance!

A good interception by Greenwood from Milner in midfield, but he can't find Rashford who's drifted centrally.

Early throw for Liverpool as van Dijk's early long ball is dealt with well by Wan-Bissaka ahead of Jota.

Five minutes to go. Can't contain my excitement. Give me a second, doing some breathing exercises.

The reasoning for Liverpool's changes are "having to use the squad", according to Klopp. Konate has trained "unbelievably", whilst Jota "was in incredible goalscoring form before the international break".

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer wants to "start on the front foot, dominating the game". Let's see what the United game-plan is, especially with the personnel out on the pitch.
    15:57
Diogo Jota is in on the left to try and catch Wan-Bissaka out at the far post from a Trent cross off the right, but otherwise, expect an encounter down that side where the England right-back marks his Portuguese counterpart tightly, but holds off at times trying to lure him into a pace race down the line, allowing 'the Spider' to slide in as he loves to do.
Mohamed Salah - in this purple patch of form - will most probably be hounded by either Fred and/or McTominay in the half space when he tries to cut in, and Luke Shaw will have his hands full watching the Egyptian magician in tandem with covering for Harry Maguire's lack of recovery pace. That could be where United come unstuck in particular, with no Raphael Varane to drop behind the defensive line and sweep up through balls.
    15:55
No Thiago nor Fabinho for Liverpool today, so in the middle of the park, it's a battle of the dogs. Henderson, Milner and Keita, against Fred and McTominay. Bruno Fernandes will, as usual, want to pick up those pockets in the half-spaces, and it'll be up to the Liverpool captain to keep him quiet as the stand-in six.
    15:54
Cristiano Ronaldo against Virgil van Dijk. A mouth-watering battle, with Ibrahima Konate brought in to deal with the pace of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, who will want to exploit the space between centre-back and full-back in the channels.
