GOOD FROM SAINTS!
Walker-Peters does well once again on the right, as he drives to the byline after a couple of stepovers, before chipping it into the box for Adam Armstrong.
He wins his header but the contact is all wrong and his effort goes high and wide.

HASENHUTTL PRE-MATCH:
"Intense time of the year, tough games coming up, but we are ready to fight."
On Antonio Conte's work at Spurs:
"He is a typical example of a modern manager and the impact [that] they can have."
Hasenhuttl also says that Tino Livramento got a kick on his knee against West Ham and is unable for today's game, and Che Adams is also out after a positive COVID test.

FORMATION CHANGE FOR SAINTS?
The change in personnel for Southampton today is suggesting a change in formation from Ralph Hasenhuttl - it is looking like he has decided to go with a back-three.
This is the first time Southampton have used this tactic from the outset since their defeat on penalties to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup in October.
Looking to match-up with Tottenham's back-three perhaps?

Antonio Conte on his team selection:
"I think that it is a busy period and for that reason it is good to make rotation to give a good balance to the team."

Eric Dier makes his 300th Tottenham appearance today!

Southampton have not won any of their last four games against Tottenham.
The Saints lost 5-2 the last time the two sides met at St. Mary's.
Their last win against Spurs came back in January 2020 - a 1-0 victory.

Antonio Conte, on the other hand, makes just three changes from his side's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Harry Winks, Ben Davies and Dele Alli all come into the team, with Lucas Moura, Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp dropping to the bench.

Ralph Hasenhuttl makes six changes from his side's 3-2 win over West Ham last time out, most likely due to the very quick turnaround between fixtures.
Fraser Forster, Jan Bednarek, Mohammed Salisu, Kyle Walker-Peters and James Ward-Prowse are those that keep their spots in the team. Mohamed Elyounoussi drops to the bench despite getting on the scoresheet against West Ham.
Stuart Armstrong and Adam Armstrong are back in the Saints starting XI.
