Premier League result: Ellis Simms nets a dramatic equaliser for Everton after Kai Havertz and Joao Felix had twice put Chelsea ahead at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are hoping to clinch a league double over Everton for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign.

It's early days but the pattern of the game appears to be set with Everton dropping deep and the home side patiently probing.

Everton struggle to deal with a right-wing corner and when Keane's header drops invitingly for Kovacic, the Chelsea midfielder lashes inches wide with a shot from 15 yards out.

Fernandez takes down a weak clearance and unleashes a thumping 25-yard effort, but MvNeil is in the way to make an important block.

Chelsea scream for a spot-kick but the Everton man's arm was not in an unnatural position.

Well, the former Toffees striker was the last man to net a league winner for Everton at the Bridge when he notched the only goal of the game in November 1994.

Everton have not picked any wins in their last 27 PL matches at Chelsea, losing on 15 occasions. It equals Newcastle’s winless sequence at Liverpool (without victory since 1995) as the joint-longest run without success by one PL club away to another.

On Everton's appointment of Dyche, he added: "He’s done a great job. You can see the effect he has had. They are incredibly motivated and have clarity in all phases. We’re under no illusions about the game and we will have to play well.”

Benoit Badiashile forms part of the back three with Reece James featuring at right-wing back. Christian Pulisic comes into the attack to make a first start since early January.

Also, a notable name on the Blues bench is none other than midfielder maestro, N’Golo Kante who is back in the squad after several months out with a hamstring issue.
