"The win earlier this season was a really good example of giving everything on the pitch," Cooper said pre-match of the reverse fixture.

"Liverpool are a brilliant team, they showed it at Leeds and have done on many occasions this year. They have brilliant players and a brilliant manager and it’s going to take everything to get a positive result, but we've got to believe.

"We don't compare the two games as it's two different teams at different stages of the season, but we know if we get it right we can have good days."

Cooper's team are winless in their last 10 matches and have picked up just three points in that span. The dire run of results has seen them drop into the relegation zone.

The day has started well for Forest, however, with relegation rivals Leeds losing to Fulham.

Liverpool begin the match eighth, nine points off a top-four spot with their Champions League hopes appearing slim. However, European football is still very much in play. Sixth place will bring with it European football, assuming Manchester United finish in the top five, and seventh would do as well if United, Manchester City or perhaps Brighton and Hove Albion win the FA Cup.

Liverpool are battling against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Aston Villa for those places - perhaps Newcastle United too. A Liverpool win today would see them leapfrog the Seagulls, while Villa are playing Brentford at the same time as this match.
