PALACE TRANSFORMED AFTER ROY RETURN
By contrast, the Eagles have won four of six matches since Hodgson returned as manager, drawing another game and losing just once.
They begin this game in 11th, five points off 10th-place Fulham, and are in fine form. Palace still have a game against Fulham to come, with their other remaining fixtures at home against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, so very winnable, and therefore a top-half finish is still possible.

TOTTENHAM'S TORRID FORM
Tottenham have just one win in their last seven games and even that - over Palace's rivals Brighton - came with several spoonfuls of VAR controversy.

PALACE PLAN TO STOP KANE
Kane has 10 career goals versus Palace and another today would see him move clear of Wayne Rooney into outright second on the all-time Premier League scoring chart. However, Hodgson - who gave Kane his England debut - plans to stop him via "good corporate defending". Defending has been an area of focus for Hodgson, who praised his entire team's work on that front as well as his "excellent" centre-back pairing this week.
"If you wanted to really ask what has impressed me most about Michael Olise, Ebere Eze, Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha, Jeff Schlupp, it has been their defensive work," he said. "How well they defend from the front, how well they screen things off, how they make it difficult for the midfield to play through."

TOTTENHAM WON REVERSE FIXTURE 4-0
Spurs beat Palace 4-0 in the reverse fixture, which was just four months ago but feels like it happened in another season. Antonio Conte and Patrick Vieira were in the dugouts while Matt Doherty - now of Atletico Madrid - was among the Tottenham scorers. Harry Kane, with a brace, and Son accounted for the other goals.

SPURS PLAYING FOR EUROPEAN PLACE
The top seven will likely qualify for European football next season and Tottenham are right on the cusp, beginning this match in seventh place but above Aston Villa only on goal difference. A win would see them leapfrog Brighton and Hove Albion to move sixth - but having played three games more than the Seagulls.
Sixth will likely mean a Europa League berth and seventh a Europa Conference League spot.

LLORIS ON THE WAY OUT?
Hugo Lloris misses out again through injury and the Tottenham captain may have played his last came for the club, if reports are to be believed.
Today's Paper Round also includes an update on former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino's proposed move to the Chelsea dugout.

CHEERS SON'S PLAYING A TEAM HE LIKES TO FACE
Son has scored seven goals in 14 appearances against Palace. There are only three English teams he has scored more goals versus.

PALACE UNCHANGED
Crystal Palace name the same starting line-up, so plenty of attacking flair. Academy product Tyrick Mitchell makes his 100th appearance for the club at left-back.
Crystal Palace: Johnstone, Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell, Doucoure, Schlupp, Ayew, Eze, Olise, Zaha.

A ROYAL RETURN
Emerson Royal's inclusion is one of three changes for Spurs. Richarlson also comes into the team in attack, with Dejan Kulusevski dropping to the bench, and Clement Lenglet joins the defensive ranks. We will see about the formation but Pedro Porro and Royal playing as wing-backs appears the most likely configuration.
Tottenham Hostpur: Forster, Porro, Romero, Lenglet, Davies, Royal, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Richarlison, Son, Kane.
