Leeds are caught out from their own throw-in and Fornals is the beneficiary of a quick counter-attack, but slices wide.

Bamford cannot carry on, which has led to an impromptu drinks break after the goal. Finally we are back underway and Gnonto is on.

Nobody tracks Bowen, who plays a one-two with Fornals, then after the clever return pass Bowen squares for Rice and a scuffed shot bounces over a desperate defender into the goal.

So far, so good for Leeds, but West Ham are growing into the game now.

The Hammers have back-to-back corners and the second leads to something of a goalmouth scramble, with Soucek shooting on the turn from six yards out, but Robles makes himself big and comes up with a vital save.

Allardyce picks up what looks like a £5 note on the touchline and jokingly offers it to the fourth official. Big Sam having a lovely day out at the minute.

Rice tries to take the game by the scruff of the neck but shoots high, wide and - from a Leeds perspective - handsome.

Paqueta shows off nice footwork by his own byline to move away from danger, but then Coufal whacks the ball into Soucek.

Bamford penalised for pulling Zouma as they challenge for the ball in the West Ham box. Bamford has been the main protagonist thus far.

The Big Sams will be happy with their start.

Paqueta finds space between the lines and shapes to shoot, but Koch closes in and makes a good block.

Harrison stabs a cross goalwards, but it is an easy save for Fabianski. West Ham have not got going and Leeds need to capitalise on their early dominance.

Bamford makes another enterprising run and squares for Rodrigo - through Rice - but the Spaniard is not ready and the ball bounces off him to the goalkeeper. Eight yards out, Rodrigo was primed to score, where he anticipating Rice may miss the ball.

Bamford gallops behind the West Ham defence and is in a race with Zouma - which he is winning - but takes a loose touch and the ball goes out for a goal kick.
