Evan Ferguson has signed a new long-term contract at Brighton & Hove Albion which will keep him at the club until June 2029.
The 19-year-old scored his first Premier League goal against Arsenal in December 2022 and has racked up 15 senior goals for the Seagulls.
Ferguson netted his first senior hat-trick in a 3-1 win against Newcastle United in September.
The Republic of Ireland forward received plaudits from Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi following the announcement of his new deal.
“Evan deserves this new contract,” he told the club website.
“He has a very big future ahead of him.”
Brighton’s technical director David Weir added: “Evan is a brilliant young talent and we are delighted for him.
“He’s shown his ability at club and international level, after breaking into the team at the start of the year, and we are looking forward to working with him and watching his continued progress.”
Ferguson signed for Brighton from Bohemians in Ireland in 2021 and made his first-team debut against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup later that year to become the club’s fifth-youngest senior debutant.
He made his Premier League debut at home to Burnley in February 2022.
Ferguson scored 10 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions last season, including six top-flight goals, and so far this season has struck five times in 14 games.
Following his statement hat-trick against Newcastle, De Zerbi was full of praise for the promising youngster.
"His improvement is important for him, for us, for his career because he's working to complete his qualities, not only score, because he can become big, big, big,” he said.
"His qualities are enough to become a great player, one of the top scorers in Europe.
“He's [born in] 2004. I don't know how many young players like Evan they score these goals in their careers."
