Eric Dier has joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur after ten years in north London. The England centre-back, who can also play in midfield, leaves the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having fallen out of favour under Ange Postecoglou, who has decided to play two natural full-backs, Emerson and Ben Davies, ahead of Dier in the middle despite an injury crisis at centre-back.

Eric Dier has joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur after ten years in north London.
The 29-year-old joins the Bundesliga giants on an initial six-month deal with an option to extend a further year.
“This move is a dream come true for me," Dier said following his arrival. "Because as a child you want to play for a club like Bayern one day. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history.
"I want to help the team with my versatility in defence. I’m really looking forward to my new teammates and the fans at the Allianz Arena, which in my eyes is one of the best stadiums in the world.”
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said: “We’re pleased we’ve been able to sign Eric Dier.
"He’s long been in our thinking for this transfer window. Eric will be a valuable part of our defence. His sporting abilities and international experience will help the team both on the pitch and in the changing room.”
The centre-back, who can also play in defensive midfield, has featured just four times for Spurs this season, and fell out of favour upon the arrival of Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
Dier's departure comes as Spurs boss Postecoglou continues to rebuild his side, with the club confirming the signing of Radu Dragusin on the same day.
The writing was on the wall for Dier after the Australian manager had decided to select natural full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies ahead of him, despite Tottenham's injury crisis at centre-half, which has seen the first choice pair - Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero - both spend elongated periods on the sideline.
Dier played himself back into the side last season, and made 33 appearances in the Premier League under both Antonio Conte and interim head coach Ryan Mason.
However, Postecoglou has decided now is the right time to move the England international on.
Dier becomes the second Englishman to leave Hotspur Way for the Allianz Arena, following in the footsteps of Harry Kane, who made the switch to the Bundesliga in August.
