Aston Villa v Sheffield United live – Premier League latest as Unai Emery's side fail to go top after frustrating home draw with battling Blades at Villa Park

Nicolo Zaniolo headed home deep in added time as Aston Villa rescued a late point and their unbeaten home record in a 1-1 Premier League draw against Sheffield United at Villa Park.

Unai's Emery's side dominated possession against the visitors, but suffered the classic sucker punch on 87 minutes when former Villa player Cameron Archer converted the cutback by substitute Gustavo Hamer for a shock lead.

United seemed set for their first league win at Villa Park since January 1966, but substitute Zaniolo, who replaced Leon Bailey on 81 minutes, rescued a merited point when he nodded home Douglas Luiz's cross in the seventh minute of nine added.

A 1-1 draw is played out. Can't say Aston Villa didn't deserve a point from that encounter with Villa joining leaders Arsenal on 39 points having played a game more and United moving off the foot of the table, a point above Burnley.

Nicolò Zaniolo rises to head home from the Luiz cross and that is a merited equaliser late on. Phew! What a finish. It is 1-1 late on.

On comes Scotland striker Ollie McBurnie for the visitors as Cameron Archer.

Moreno with the header from the Cash cross, but a fine stop by Foderingham at his near post to deny him. Still 1-0 with the Blades leading. Heading for NINE minutes of added time.

Lovely finish from close range by Archer as he slips the ball into the net from Hamer's cross. Brilliant play by him to elude McGinn before setting up his team-mate to finish with ease. A stunning end to this match.

Lowe with a fabulous cross into the heart of the Villa box, but an attempted clearance by Ezri Konsa flies inches wide of the home goal. How close was that to an own goal.

Didn't catch that one properly and the ball trickles harmlessy into the arms of Foderingham in the visiting goal.

Hamer with a decent little pass to find Norwood running onto the ball from distance. Gets the shot at goal as Martinez dives to his right to make a solid stop.

Slimane heads off with James McAtee introduced for the visitors.

Jhon Durán replaces Moussa Diaby and Álex Moreno is on for Lucas Digne.

Digne might be departing the scene for the home side as Villa continue to search for space. Baldock with another VAR call for United as he seemed to shoulder the ball before clearing. Arm seemed to go towards the ball. Fortunate to escape perhaps.

Ezri Konsa is taken out of the action late and goes into the book for his troubles.

He bounds down the pitch after Villa's sixth corner of the night comes to nothing, but just runs out of steam at the wrong moment as the home side deal with the danger.

McGinn rolls the ball in front of Watkins, but he can't find the desired final ball as the cross lands harmlessly on the top of the United net.

Amid the wait to see if that goal would stand, United do make changes as Gustavo Hamer replaces Andre Brooks and Max Lowe comes on for Yasser Larouci.

Jacob Ramsey with a clear pull on Foderingham on his line as he tried to come out and punch the ball. Took around four minutes, but that is the correct decision. And it remains 0-0.

And it seems to suggest Ramsey is clearly holding the United goalkeeper Foderingham's arm from the earlier corner. Looks like this goal is going to be cancelled.
