LUTON PEG BACK BURNLEY IN CONTROVERSIAL FASHION
Carlton Morris scored a controversial equaliser in stoppage time to earn Luton a 1-1 draw and Turf Moor and deny Burnley what would have been a precious victory.
The substitute headed into an unguarded net, with Clarets goalkeeper James Trafford on the floor after colliding with Elijah Adebayo as he came for the cross, but the referee did not deem Trafford impeded and a VAR review upheld that decision.
Zeki Amdouni had given Burnley a first-half lead against the run of play, applying a side-footed finish to a Wilson Odobert cutback.
Burnley had the better of the chances thereafter but could not add to their advantage and were made to pay at the end of a match which gave clues as to why both sides are in the relegation zone.
Luton remain 18th, but the point takes them to 16 and level with Everton, but with a worse goal difference. Burnley, in 19th, are four points behind and have played an extra game.

FERDINAND AGREES WITH REFEREE ON LATE EQUALISER
Speaking on TNT Sports, Rio Ferdinand has said he thinks the equaliser should indeed have stood.
"There was contact, but me personally I think this is a game with big people, there are comings together and I don't think there was enough there to give that as a foul," he said. "I think Luton deserved something out of this game."

THE GOAL IS GIVEN
Heartbreak for Burnley. Delight for Luton. Adebayo was in Trafford's way and didn't go for the ball, but didn't initiate the contact. Hard to see that being a clear and obvious foul, those two fateful words.

GOAL! BURNLEY 1-1 LUTON (MORRIS)
Luton think they have equalised! A cross comes in from the left, Trafford collides with Adebayo and that leaves Morris to nod into an empty net. VAR will have a look - Burnley are furious and this is a massive moment.
