Crystal Palace versus Manchester City LIVE: title challengers lead at Selhurst Park

Manchester City moved up to second place in the Premier League table, and level on points with leaders Liverpool, after a 4-2 lunchtime victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

A flurry of second half goals from Rico Lewis, Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne ended a match that had been closely contested in the first half. A consolation goal from Odsonne Edouard arrived to late to give any hope of a Palace comeback.

Jean-Phillipe Mateta had given Palace the lead after just three minutes, with a smart finish from a defence-splitting pass by Adam Wharton. Their lead was cancelled out by a stunning goal from Kevin De Bruyne ten minutes later.

Later in the half Jordan Ayew hit the crossbar before City gradually took control and dominated possession throughout.

City will now face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League on Tuesday, as their bid for back-to-back Trebles gathers pace.

That's the gauntlet thrown down to Arsenal and Liverpool. City have won this convincingly.

Grealish, who has been excellent today, cuts into the area once more. He tries to curl one to the top corner, but it's well wide of goal.

There's been some kind of clash with Haaland here, and he's in a heap. VAR has a look at it but there was nothing untoward, so on we go.

The outstanding De Bruyne is replaced by Bernardo Silva.

Ahamada has a go now, whipping a low shot in that bounces right into the hands of Ortega.

Olise whips in a nice ball to the back post, but Schlupp is just half a yard behind it and the ball goes out of play.

We're hearing seven minutes of added time at least.

Palace get one back, and it's a beauty. They work the ball wide to Schlupp on the left of the area. He crosses first time into the box, and Edouard meets it on the volley and turns it past Ortega.

Hughes departs, replaced by Ahamada.

City plate up another chance for Palace as they give the ball away carelessly in their own area. Edouard gets the ball right in front of goal, but his shot is deflected and cleared from near the line by (I think) Stones.

Their fans are revelling in this. City keep probing forwards; they'll be well aware of the importance of goal difference in such a tight title race.

Kovacic and Nunes replace Rodri and Alvarez for City.

For Palace Olise, Edouard and Clyne come on for Ayew, Mateta and Mitchell.

That went in like a shell. De Bruyne is on a hat trick now, and one more goal will put City top of the league on goal difference.

Oh they're having fun now. Again Grealish taunts Palace down the left. He cuts the ball back to Rodri, who touches it to De Bruyne 15 yards out. De Bruyne launches his shot at goal and it flies in at the near post.

It's been a typical Haaland display here - dormant and passive for so long, and then exploding into life. That's thirty in all competitions this season now.

That is probably that. Grealish jinks his way into the area on the left again, and slips a delicious pass through to the onrushing De Bruyne near the six yard box. De Bruyne spins and flicks the ball across goal first time, and Haaland is waiting to slide the ball in and make it three.

Schlupp replaces Eze for Palace.

Rodri is caught late by Mateta, studs right on the top of the foot. Rodri is in a heap, and Mateta is booked.
