Manager Harry Redknapp has signed a three-year contract with Portsmouth after saving the Premier League side from relegation last season.
"The ending to the season was only the beginning as far as everyone connected with the club is concerned and Harry is now the man who will take us on from here," said chief executive Peter Storrie in a statement.
Before losing to Liverpool in the final match of the season, Portsmouth had taken 20 points from nine games in a spell of form that lifted them away from the drop zone.
Redknapp rejoined Portsmouth, after an acrimonious departure and disappointing spell with south coast rivals Southampton, in December 2005. Southampton were relegated while he was manager.
Portsmouth finished in 17th place in the 20-strong Premier League last season when Redknapp's previous contract expired.
