Former England and Liverpool striker David Johnson is recovering in a Singapore hospital after suffering a minor heart attack. Johnson and three other former Liverpool players -- Ronnie Whelan, Chris Lawler and Phil Neal -- were in Singapore to run a holiday soccer camp.
"He had a small heart attack. He is recovering well," said Goh Chen Yuan, an official from the soccer camp, told Reuters.
Goh said Johnson underwent treatment to clear a blocked artery.
He is expected to be discharged in the next few days. Johnson played eight times for England between 1975 and 1980, scoring six times. He won several championships with Liverpool as well as the European Cup in 1981.
