Sami Al-Jaber became the first Saudi player to move to Europe when he signed for English second division side Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2000 and is still the only Saudi player with experience abroad.
Now at Al Hilal and with over 150 caps to his name, he was coaxed out of international retirement in 2005 and immediately returned to the scoresheet with a goal against Uzbekistan and two more in qualifying for the World Cup.
