AC Milan v Sampdoria: Live updates as the Rossoneri recover from Champions League exit as Giroud, Diaz and Leao score

Sampdoria have been relegated. They’ve not won a game since mid March and are 12 points away from staying up, conceding 62 goals and netting only 21.

The historic club’s stay in the top flight has come to an end after ten seasons.

To make matters worse, Samp will be replaced in the league by arch rivals Genoa after they sealed promotion from Serie B.

There is just three games to go of the Serie A season and AC Milan are in a battle to secure a place in the Champions League, despite being knocked out in the semi-finals earlier this week.

Stefano Pioli’s side are fifth and four points behind Lazio in the last CL spot. And Milan have at least got to make sure they secure Europa League football as they have Roma and Atalanta hot on their heels, who are two and three points behind them.
