Newco Rangers owner Charles Green has been found 'not proven' by an independent judicial panel of bringing the game into disrepute.
Green was served with a Notice of Complaint by the Scottish Football Association after allegedly questioning the independence of a three-man panel led by Lord Nimmo Smith investigating the issue Emploment Benefit Trusts (EBTs) and whether or not dual contracts were used by the club to reward players in the past.
Green has since tried to qualify his statements saying that he was not questioning the integrity of the commission, but the possible punishment and the stripping of five league titles won in the last decade.
Green has been left to pick up the pieces after the old Rangers were liquidated with debts of over £90 million.
"What I said, I said in good faith and I was speaking up for the interests of Rangers," said Green.
"To be critical of the SPL's handling of the EBT issue does not mean that I am showing disrespect for the game and that view appears to have been shared by the judicial panel.
"It is my hope that we can all move on from today and start working constructively for the good of the game."
