Pascal Zuberbuehler has left West Brom and returned to Switzerland to join Neuchatel Xamax on an 18-month contract. The Switzerland international keeper is keen to get first-team football with the 2008 European Championships in mind.
The 36-year-old former Basel player only joined West Brom in the summer but - after making 14 appearances for the Baggies - he was relegated to second-choice by new coach Tony Mowbray and has only featured once since mid-October.
Dean Kiely has been confirmed as the West Midlands club's number one since his release from Portsmouth in November.
Zuberbuehler has in the past struggled to adapt to life outside Switzerland, only lasting six months and 13 matches with Bayer Leverkusen in 2000.
He has been capped 47 times by Switzerland.
