Liverpool v Cardiff City result - Elliott makes scoring return as Reds win

They've still got Cardiff pinned back, but they're not threatening much. Minamino looks bright, but his mates haven't done loads.

Firmino does well to find Jones, who slams over a cross to which Flint shows a torso, the ball very close to his shoulder, then Cardiff counter, Harris spreading the play, for Pack to curl just wide. What a passage that was, and VAR confirms that it wasn't a pen. This time, I agree (it'll be ecstatic to learn).

Have been decent for Cardiff, who then get away successive corners.

Nice from Cardiff, Denham setting Harris away down the right, and he drives a fine low cross that somehow eludes - or is eluded by - the three men waiting in the box!

Harris cuts inside and into the box, cleverly steps in front of Konate, and Konate runs through him! The ref and VAR say nothing doing, but that was very, very close if you ask me. He was nowhere neaer the ball and played the man, so I'm not sure what else we're seeking.

Then pass it back to the keeper. It's just like watching Liverpool in the 80s.
