Disallowed Goal!
Rashford with a thunderbolt and Lumley is left grasping at thin air, but he's strayed fractionally offside.

Goal United!
Sancho puts United ahead. The pressure finally tells as Bruno collects the ball on the halfway line and picks out Sancho’s run superbly. He gathers himself, shoots and a small deflection takes it beyond Lumley. On the balance of play, there can be no complaints from Boro.

Bruno chance
Not for the first time, Bruno breaks in behind the Boro defence and is picked out superbly. He has a chance to take a touch but opts for the first-time volley and sends it over the bar. Not sure he knew how much time he had.

Ronaldo misses
On the eve of his 37th birthday, Ronaldo drags his low effort wide of the right post. Inches from perfection, but it turns out horribly for their star man.

Penalty United
Pogba gets in behind Dijksteel and the Boro defender in desperation tries to make the tackle, but bundles the United man over and Anthony Taylor points to the spot.

Pogba with the tackle
McTominay slopping gives the ball away in midfield and Jones darts forward. He has the United defence backtracking, but Pogba comes across and times the sliding tackle to perfection. Sliding tackles are a dying art, but when done well they are majestic.

Ronaldo goes for glory
The Portuguese picks up the ball on the edge of the box, flicks it up and attempts the dink into the top corner, but the pace is taken off the ball by a deflection. You could see what he was thinking as Lumley was well off his line.

First Boro attack
After weathering a storm, Balogun wins a free-kick on the right. The ball is whipping in dangerously, but frustratingly for the visitors the offside flag goes up. Boro are not likely to dominate the chances, so must make good use of those that come their way.

Acrobatics
United move the ball well from right to left and Shaw makes the overlap and digs out a cross. It is behind Ronaldo, but he goes for the overhead. The effort is on target, but lacks power and is saved by Lumley.

Nerve settler
Better from Lumley as he races off his line to get to the ball ahead of Rashford who had made a great run as Dalot fed the ball in behind the defence.

Crossbar
Almost a calamity for Boro as Lumley comes to the edge of his box but hesitates and drops the ball. It falls to Sancho who chips the ‘keeper but it hits the bar and Boro smuggle the ball away.

Rangnick on Henderson: “With Dean we have a fantastic goalkeeper. His training performances since I arrived have been outstanding and that's why I decided to give him this game in front of a sold out Old Trafford stadium. He more than deserved that.”

Rangnick on the decision to throw Pogba straight back in: “He was good in training, he performed well in training and that's why we decided to play him from the start.”
