Wednesday's Paper Round leads on Gareth Southgate's links to Manchester United, with the players reportedly keen on the England boss stepping into the dugout at Old Trafford. Elsewhere, Brentford striker Ivan Toney is wanted by several London clubs this summer, and Jean-Clair Todibo is just one of several potential reinforcements for Chelsea in defence.

Man Utd players keen on Southgate

The Mirror believes that Manchester United players are keen on bringing in Gareth Southgate as their manager.
The England manager, whose future with England after Euro 2024 is unclear, has been linked with a move to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The paper reports: “Several Manchester United players are already on board with the idea of Gareth Southgate becoming the club's new manager.
“The England chief, 53, has been touted as a potential successor to Erik ten Hag in recent weeks with the Dutchman's long-term future unclear. And with the end of the season fast approaching, it seems there's every chance Ineos will opt to make a managerial change in the summer.
‘Southgate has worked with a number of United players during his seven-year spell in charge of the national team and has built key relationships with said players. His current contract is due to expire later this year after the European Championships but United are likely to try and lure him to Manchester in the summer.”

Tottenham and Chelsea face Toney battle

The Sun reports that Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham all want to sign Ivan Toney.
The 28-year-old Brentford striker is reportedly on the hunt for a new club this summer, and admitted earlier this year that he wants "to play for a top club".
The paper writes: “Three clubs are set to fight over Ivan Toney - as the player plots an exit should Brentford.
“A disastrous run of form has left the Bees just five points above the relegation zone.
“With Brentford perilously close to the bottom three, a trio of sides are jostling to get in pole-position to land the striker this summer.
“SunSport understands Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham have all expressed an interest in signing the 28-year-old.
“It comes after Arsenal, who have previously been linked with Toney, cooled their interest.”

Man Utd target teenagers ahead of summer moves

The Mail believes Manchester United are in line to sign two teenage players this summer.
One is Ipswich’s Silva Mexes and the second is Wesley Okoduwa, who plays in defence at Wolves.
The paper explains: “United have lined up moves for two promising teenagers, Silva Mexes of Ipswich Town and Wolves defender Wesley Okoduwa.
“It's understood that Mexes, a 14-year-old forward, is close to completing a move to United's academy.
“Okoduwa, a 16-year-old right-back who was on the bench for Wolves' Premier League clash with Newcastle at the start of this month, is believed to be another target.”

Silva linked with Chelsea exit

Brazilian side Fluminense are allegedly looking to land Chelsea central defender Thiago Silva at the end of the season.
The Standard suggests that potential reinforcements for Mauricio Pochettino include Jean-Clair Todibo, Leny Yoro, and Ousmane Diomande.
The report explains: "Fluminense sporting director Fred admits Thiago Silva remains a 'dream' signing for the club.
“The 39-year-old will be out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season and the Blues are seemingly looking at centre-backs ahead of the summer transfer window.
“Lille’s Leny Yoro is of interest at Stamford Bridge after a brilliant season for the French club, though both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are both circling.
“Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande and Nice star Jean-Clair Todio are other names to have been sounded out, while the Blues are also tracking a new striker, as well as a left-back.”
