It has been one of the longest-running transfer sagas of the summer, which appears to have a temporary resolution. Kylian Mbappe is in discussions over a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain and could sign a deal until 2025. That would allow PSG to sell Mbappe for a healthy fee next summer. The 24-year-old has made one appearance for PSG and scored in their 1-1 draw with Toulouse on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a new contract, amid his ongoing links to Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old has been involved in one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer, and was frozen out of the first-team squad after refusing to sign a new deal.
With that in mind, PSG stated their intention to sell Mbappe rather than let the France captain leave for free in a year’s time.
The French champions gave Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal permission to speak with Mbappe after making a £259m bid for his services, but the player had no interest in making a move to the Middle East.
He was subsequently omitted from the club’s draw with Lorient on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season, but a major U-turn saw Mbappe reintegrated into the squad following constructive talks.
Now the olive branch appears to have been extended further, as Sky Sports claim he is discussions over a potential new deal at the club.
The options would include either exercising his one-year contract extension or sign a brand-new deal for a longer duration.
Whatever happens though, it looks almost certain that Mbappe will not be heading to the Bernabeu this summer - which was confirmed by Real boss Carlo Ancelotti.
When asked about a deal for Mbappe, Ancelotti said "No, I rule it out 100%."
He added: "I think our squad is closed and our players are thinking about our season."

Luis Enrique glad to have 'perfect' Mbappe available for selection

However, there is a general feeling that an eventual move to the Bernabeu is in the pipeline.
Should Mbappe sign a new deal until 2025, then it would enable PSG to sell their prized asset for a respectable fee next summer.
Mbappe has so far scored once in as many games this season after netting in PSG’s 1-1 draw with Toulouse on Saturday.
Luis Enrique’s side are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Lens to the Parc des Princes.
