Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, a former France international, had been given permission to look for a new club in the summer transfer window but failed to find a side. Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has joined Los Angeles FC on a free transfer, ending an 11-year spell with the Premier League side.
The 37-year-old Frenchman has agreed a deal with the Major League Soccer side that runs until the end of the 2024 season in the United States, with the option of two more years.
In more than a decade in north London he made 447 appearances for the club, and he was given permission to look for a new team in the summer, with manager Ange Postecoglou recruiting Guglielmo Vicario as the new first-choice player between the sticks.
Lloris has been unable to regain his spot in the team, and after 31 appearances last season he has not featured at all in any competition in the current campaign.
"Spurs will always be a special place for me and all my family," Lloris said in a statement on the club's official website.
"It has been a great privilege to be one of yours and one of your captains for many years and it's the end of the chapter, but you will be always in my heart."
Lloris joined from Lyon in 2012 and was given the armband by Mauricio Pochettino three years later.
He will be given the opportunity to say goodbye to the club’s fans on Sunday at half-time during Tottenham’s home match against Bournemouth.
