Smith Rowe skips away from his marker on the right side of the penalty area and drills a low ball across the face of goal, searching for Sessegnon. Correia is there to make an important interception, though.
21'
Nketiah controls a throw-in on his chest and tries an early cross - but there's no one attacking at the ball at the near post and Portugal goalkeeper Costa gathers comfortably.
19'
England work the ball forward patiently, shifting it from right to centre, but Davies runs himself into trouble. The Three Lions soon have it back, but this time go long with a ball out from the back, gifting Portugal a throw-in.
16'
Portugal win a corner of their own, which they play short. It's worked to Dalot, who tries an ambitious shot from 25 yards. It's wide, but Ramsdale was worried for a second.
14'
Nketiah pounces on a mistake by Diogo Leite in the Portugal defence, driving into the box from the right channel but his cross is blocked by Dalot on the slide, as England win their first corner of the night.

Portugal chance! England try to play out from the back again, but Davies loses possession cheaply. They get away with it on this occasion as Mota feeds Vieira, who spins and gets his shot away but it's straight down the middle for Ramsdale, who makes a comfortable save.
8'
Steven Sessegnon is on the overlap as England forge an attack down the left flank. It's now with Smith Rowe, but his cross into the middle is rather aimless.
7'
Most of the early possession has been with Portugal, who look very confident. Madueke wins the ball back for England in midfield but he's immediately doubled up on and Correira comes away with it.
5'
Portugal have made a bright start to proceedings here and would have been ahead only for the positional awareness of Godfrey. England look nervous.

Off the line! There's an early warning for England as Godfrey comes to the rescue - he's in the right place at the right time to block the unmarked Mota's header from Correira's cross. Ramsdale was beaten.

Kick-off! England get us underway in Ljubljana.
19:55
FIVE minutes until kick-off! It's England against Portugal in this do-or-die Under 21 European Championships Group D game. It's LIVE and it's NEXT!
19:50
TEN minutes until kick-off! England are bottom of Group D following Croatia's 3-2 victory over Switzerland earlier and are the only team without three points. A win tonight would set the group up beautifully ahead of Wednesday's games. Lose and it's all over, basically.
19:45
If England are to win tonight, Oliver Skipp will need to have another big game. The Spurs midfielder, on loan at Norwich this season, was their best player on Thursday by a country mile.
19:40
Madueke has nine goals and eight assists in all competitions this season. Can he deliver tonight?
19:35
Of course it's a big night for Boothroyd, whose contract is up in the summer. Another group stage exit would be a disaster for him. He has put his faith in PSV's Madueke, who makes his debut tonight. The 19-year-old told press: "I had to watch the first game [against Switzerland] from minute zero to 90. But tomorrow I'm excited to get on the pitch, hopefully get the win and show what I can do. It's not really any pressure to be honest. We're professional footballers, there's pressure every game. It's about doing what the coach has asked of me and help my team-mates in the only way I can by being direct, score goals and try to kill whoever I'm playing against."
19:30
Tough game for England, this. Very tough. Portugal have won their last eight games and must be favourites to top the group after beating Croatia in their opener. Boothroyd has rung the changes tonight, but will he get the desired result?
19:25
Boothroyd on tonight's game: "Without a doubt, the next game is always the most important one but when you are in a tournament it ramps it right up. Is it an important game for me? It's an important game for England Under-21s, we are still in there fighting and we won't go down without a fight."
19:20
England barely mustered a chance as they fell to defeat in the opening Group D game. It leaves them needing a win tonight - or face a group stage exit, just like they did two years ago.
19:15
Talented Sporting Lisbon striker Pedro Goncalves leads Portugal's attack, with Barcelona's Francisco Trincao named amongst the substitutes. Fabio Vieira of Porto makes his first start of the tournament after coming off the bench to score the winner in Portugal's 1-0 over Croatia. Diogo Queiros and Diogo Leite continue their partnership at centre-back.
19:10
Boothroyd makes FOUR changes to the England side that lost 1-0 to Switzerland on Thursday. In come Noni Madueke - making his debut - Ryan and Steven Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga, with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Dwight McNeil, Max Aarons and Lloyd Kelly dropping out.
