England also have the potential to do something, but it might be a tournament too soon. They have the attackers to climb into anyone, but the defence isn't solid enough to compensate for a lack of midfield control. But of they can find a player able to control tempo, things will change quickly.

In the end, the Nations League is window dressing for the Euros. Germany have a pretty good shot at winning that - they'll likely have to go through France at some point, but have the players to sort them in a one-off. I'm not sure 3-4-3 is the best formation for them, especially with two old men in the middle of midfield, but Goretzka will make a huge difference, and they also have Havertz to fit in.

I wonder where Sane will fit in at Bayern. Perhaps Kingsley Coman - also an excellent player - will leave.

This is extremely enlightening.

Elsewhere, Ireland have lost at home to Finland. The brave new world is hard to reach.

I cannot stop listening to this.

It's a funny thing, the Nations League. It's convoluted - perhaps it can only be, given how many teams there are - but it has definitely made international football more interesting.

Ukraine currently sit on top of Group 4, and only the winners progress into the semi-finals.
19:04
It should be noted that Germany are without their treble winners, all of whom are enjoying a little break. Their XI looks a little uninspiring, it must be said, but once you factor in Neuer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Muller and Gnabry, things look extremely different.

As for Germany, they drew 1-1 with Spain and make two changes too, Leno replacing Trapp in net and Ginter coming in for Can on the right of the three centre-backs

Swizerland lost 2-1 in Ukraine on Thursday night and make three changes following that disappointment: Steffen replaces Vargas on the left of the midfield four, Benito replaces Zuber on the left of the defensive five, and Widmer does likewise with Mbabu on the right.

Switzerland: Sommer, Widmer, Elvedi, Akanji, Rodriguez, Benito, Embolo, Sow, Xhaka, Steffen, Sferovic; Subs: Omlin, Vargas, Mvogo, Omeragic, Ajeti, Zuber, Aebischer, Gavranovic, Lang, Fassnacht, Sohm.

Ok, that was harder than I expected. but here we go...

Let's have some teams...
