Germany's Timo Werner had fans drooling over his play as he opened the scoring in stupendous fashion against the Netherlands on Monday evening.

With France fans watching on in the strange position of cheering Germany on for their own benefit in the crucial Nations League clash, Werner opened the scoring in just the ninth minute with a gorgeous finish.

The Leipzig striker was quickly hailed the best in the world in his role after he brought the ball down and lashed a volley into the Netherlands net.
