Good evening and welcome to arguably the most mouthwatering clash of the WWC so far. It's Germany versus France in a heavyweight quarter-final between two of the favourites for the tournament. It's the world number one versus the number three and it all kicks off at 9pm BST.

A first sniff of goal for Germany as Bouhaddi comes to punch a free kick clear and makes a mess of it. The French can't nudge it back into the mixer and Germany manage to clear.

It's one-way traffic. Germany can't get out of their own half. A corner is half cleared to Necib who lashes a 30-yarder off target.

A clever free kick is cut back to Majri on the edge of the area but the referee gets in the way and when she eventually fires in the shot it is a hurried one that drags wide of the far post. The official inadvertently helped Germany there.
