PLUMPTRE RATTLES THE BAR!
What a strike that would have been!
Kanu twists and turns on the right to get the better of Greenwood and finds Plumptre on the edge of the box, who fires in a sweet strike first-time which hits the bar. After a bit of a scrap for the ball in the penalty area, Plumptre produces another dangerous shot which Earps beats away.
A sigh of relief for England!

RUSSO WITH AN IMPORTANT BLOCK
Nigeria have another corner and this time Michelle Alozie sends a powerful header goal-bound, but Russo is in the right place to gte the danger clear.
Nigeria are on top at the moment.

SLOPPY FROM ENGLAND AS NIGERIA THREATEN
The Lionesses let their guard dow momentarily as Rasheedat Ajibade is given acres of space to deliver a cross towards the back post, which Mary Earps has to tip behind for a corner despite being completely unchallenged. England manage to hook the corner clear.

CARTER READS THE BALL WELL TO DENY ONUMONU
Onumonu looks to break down the right-hand side of the pitch but Jess Carter is one step ahead as she quickly comes across to block her path and see the ball out of play.

NNADOZIE WITH A CRUCIAL TOUCH
The Nigerian goalkeeper does well to guide an England corner away with her fingertips. It's been a positive, fast start for England.

EARLY ENGLAND DANGER CLEARED

HOW CRUCIAL COULD WALSH'S RETURN BE?
England fans feared the worst when Walsh sustained a knee injury and was stretchered off in the group game against Denmark, which subsequently ruled her out of the China clash.
Walsh was an integral part of the team that won the European Championships last year, and her return to training yesterday was a huge boost in the England camp.
But for her to return to the starting 11 for today's match is slightly surprising. The quality she possesses and the experience she has in major tournaments could make all the difference for Wiegman's side in their hunt to become European and World Champions.

USA BEATEN AS SWEDEN ADVANCE
One team that won't be at Stadium Australia in Sydney for the Women's World Cup final on 20 August is reigning champions USA.
They were beaten in a drama-filled penalty shoot-out finale against Sweden, who join Spain, Netherlands and Japan in the quarter-finals.

ENGLAND'S CAMPAIGN SO FAR
Weigman's side won all three group games, capped off with a convincing 6-1 triumph against China after slim - and often nervy - wins against Haiti and Denmark.
After starting the opening match on the bench, Lauren James' services have been relied on and the Chelsea midfielder has since contributed to six goals - scoring three herself and grabbing a hat-trick of assists in England's last outing.
She starts in the middle, behind strikers Alessia Russo and Lauren Hemp.
