2023 FIFA Women's World Cup live - Japan take on Sweden for spot in semi-finals

It was tense, and Japan pushed but Sweden hold their nerve to make it to the semi-finals.

Endo's free-kick is headed away by Hurtig. Hamano tries her chance from distance but her shot is wide.

Musovic is getting some treatment, and then we get the sign. Ten minutes for Japan to find an equaliser.

Hayashi takes it, and it hits the crossbar. Play continues and the ball ends up at the feet of Hayashi who hammers it home.

Can they find one more to take this to extra-time?

And now Sweden will make some changes to see this out. Bennison and Jakobsson come on for Rubensson and Kaneryd.

Nagano and Miyazwa make way for Hayashi and Seike.

Endo races away, and she's almost through on goal. She opts to wait for her team mates for support, and Ilestedt makes the block.

Minutes later, Fujino has a good chance, but Musovic makes a good save.

Japan coming to life, but is it too little, too late?

After a Hasegawa shot goes over the bar, Ueki is challenged near the box, but no free-kick is given. Loud boos ring out from the crowd, but play carries on.

Good ball from Endo that finds Fujino. But it's awkward, and she hits it into the ground before it loops over just above the bar and it bounces off the roof of the net.

Japan finally have some of the ball in the final third, and their is some good play but again, they're not winning any of the crosses that come in.

They try and go centrally and play some incisive passes, but Sweden are forcing them wide.

Hasegawa with the ball in from a cross, but it's so difficult for this Japan side to out-jump Sweden. Too big of a height difference.

This has EASILY been Sweden's best performance of the tournament.

Everything that Japan have done well leading up to this, Sweden have managed to nullify.
