Gazza, for all his problems, cares very much about England as he wishes them luck on Twitter. Bless.

Our man @TomEurosport is at Wembley tonight and he will be live Tweeting during the match. He too is surprised at Townsend's start...

Well we all wondered if Hodgson had the cojones to play Sturridge, Welbeck and Rooney together, with the expected compromise to bench one of Welbeck or Sturridge and use Milner. So it's something of a surprise that he's not only started all three forwards, but canned Wilshere too with Townsend getting the nod. But, tactically, using all three would require a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and - with Lampard and Gerrard not covering as much ground these days, the former makes sense.

You can get in touch with me via Twitter if you like - I won't be checking the user comments below this live matchcast as they have a tendency to disappear, and it's the Wild West if you ask me. Find me @Reda_Eurosport if you will, if you want, if selected...

Obviously we'll let you know as soon as the teams are confirmed, but that proposed selection goes against the stereotype of Roy Hodgson as a cautious, defensive coach - remember, England need to win both these matches to guarantee a place at the finals in Brazil, while a draw and a win would only be good enough for the play-offs. They have to try and win this.

Another possible biggie which has NOT been confirmed yet but has been widely circulated is that Jack Wilshere and James Milner are on the bench, with England adopting a 4-2-3-1 formation to a. allow the desired frontline of Rooney-Sturridge-Welbeck and b. to hand Andros Townsend a start. Big night for the Spurs winger!

The big news team-wise is that Tom Cleverley, who had been tipped for a starting role, was ruled out of this match and the clash against Poland next week. The Manchester United midfielder has a calf injury.
