Good evening and welcome to our LIVE coverage of tonight’s World Cup Group C qualifying match between Germany and Ireland from the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne.

The final whistle is blown. Germany run out 3-0 winners and qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Ireland's hopes of qualifying are ended. Thanks for joining us tonight.

GOAL!! Germany add a third with the last kick of the game. The hosts counter-attack following an Ireland corner. Jansen carries the ball out of his penalty area and into the Ireland half to play in Schweinsteiger. The Bayern man produces a defence-splitting pass which allows for Ozil to meet the ball, taking it past Forde, to finish from close range.

We'll have two minutes of added time.

CHANCE FOR IRELAND AT THE DEATH!! McCarthy is sent down the right and gets the better of Boateng to cross for Stokes. His first touch is good but Neuer is off his line in a flash to close the angle and make the save.

Ireland have a chance to take the ball forward. Whelan, McCarthy and Gibson combine down the left but McCarthy’s attempted ball over the top is hit far too hard and rolls out for a goal kick.

The hosts make their third and final change of the evening. Sidney Sam replaces Muller.

INCHES WIDE!! Lahm travels down the right and plays a clever reverse ball into the path of Ozil who takes the ball in his stride, into the penalty area and shoots on goal. Forde is beaten but Ozil has to watch his shot roll narrowly wide.

Mario Goetze is Joachim Loew's second substitution of the day, replacing Schurrle.

A lovely German move that starts from Neuer and goes through every player before eventually reaching Schurrle wide on the left comes to an end when the Chelsea man blasts his shot high and wide from 18 yards.

What an effort from Boateng. The defender picks up the ball midway into the Ireland half and travels forward unchallenged before unleashing a blockbuster shot that crashed off the post.

Max Kruse does make an appearance and replaces Khedira.

CHANCE!! Khedira nearly grabs his second of the game. Eight yards, from goal, the midfielder receives Lahm’s cutback to shoot at goal. Forde sees it early and beats it around the post.

Ireland win a corner. It’s delivered by Whelan and is sent out to Gibson on the edge of the Germany box. The Everton man attempts a first-time volley but the contact is poor, looping the ball up into the air.

Max Kruse looks to be warming up on the German bench. It won't be too long until we see the Borussia Mönchengladbach man.

Schurrle’s corner is met by the towering Mertesacker who heads over from 12 yards.

Lahm gets beyond Kelly and pulls the ball back into the path of Kroos who sends an effort on goal. Forde flies to his right to palm the ball away. The keeper really has had a great game.

Germany are claiming handball in the Ireland penalty area after Ozil's volleyed effort appeared to striker the arm of Wilson. He couldn't do a great deal to get out of the way of it, though, which has probably saved him.

Great double stop from Neuer. Coleman’s initial effort from distance is saved well down low before the German keeper is up well to deny McCarthy’s follow-up.

So close to a third. Schurrle’s devilish ball from the left is met by the diving Muller at the far post. Muller’s effort from close-range is on target but, once again, Forde is able to make the stop – saving with his feet.

The home fans appeal for a penalty as Lahm bursts into the penalty area before going down under Gibson’s challenge. The Everton man gets all of the ball and play is waved on, despite the protests.
