Good evening and welcome to LIVE coverage of tonight’s crucial World Cup qualifying match between the Republic of Ireland and Austria at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The final whistle is blown. Ireland throw away two points as David Alaba's deflected effort in the last minute salvages a draw for Austria.

GOAL!! Austria score and break Irish hearts. Alaba’s strike from 20 yards takes a deflection off substitute Sean St. Ledger and into the back of the net.

Ireland living on the edge here. Harnik whips in a ball from the left and, somehow, the ball finds its way to Janko at the far post. The striker looks very awkward on his left foot and completely misses the ball.

Paul Green wins a free kick deep into the Austrian half. The whistle is met by a huge cheer from the crowd. Three minutes will be added on.

A well-worked free kick sees Alaba find Harnik unmarked at the far post. The winger sends his header towards goal but the angle is against him and Forde gathers with relative ease.

The hosts are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment. Dragovic looks to find Janko with a lofted ball. O’Shea clatters into the back of the Austrian striker and a free kick is given. Trapattoni is not happy with the decision.

O’Shea’s first touch puts the Ireland defence under pressure with Weimann and Janko bearing down on the ball. The former Manchester united defender recovers well to clear the ball for a throw-in.

Walters has taken up a more central role now. Austria continue to come forward as Ireland sit deep. Can they hold out in these last five minutes or will Austria find an equaliser in the dying minutes?

Paul Green comes on in place of Shane Long. Trapattoni looks keen to consolidate this margin with that defensive change.

Long, working tirelessly, closes down Fuchs and wins the ball. The Reading man feeds Walters down the right who is able to cross for McClean at the back post. The winger is able to get his head to the ball but the effort on goal is from 15 yards and fails to test Lindner.

Alaba once again drives forward from the midfield position and sends in an enticing cross from the left. Janko throws himself at the ball but is a distance away from it. Forde claims.

Silly. Long is dispossessed on the halfway line which he is not too pleased with. The striker is instantly up on his feet to chase the ball down but commits a needless foul. That’ll be a yellow card and he’ll miss the next qualifier against the Faroes.

It looked like Ireland had turned a corner following that decent spell at the end of the first half which saw them take the lead but there has been no respite for the defence throughout the entirety of this second half.

Weimann again pulls free of a defender to take control of the ball. The Villa front man lofts a ball into the box which O’Shea clears. He’s fouled by Janko which will relieve the Irish defence.

Long drifts away from his marker and gathers the ball in between the two centre backs. In a flash the striker swivels to fire at goal. Lindner is equal to it, but the flag was raised anyway.

Ireland are defending on the edge of their 18 yard box. They’re just inviting Austria to attack. They need to be brave and defend further up the field or they could pay heavily for sitting back.

Smart goalkeeping from Forde. Weimann finds some space down the left, takes on touch and then whips in a devilish ball. Janko is just inches away from getting his toe on the end of the ball but the Irish keeper is off his line in a flash to clear.

Walters is back helping out his defence as Austria attack in numbers. Janko and Weimann link up well down the left but the Stoke City man intercepts to clear the ball.

Sean St. Ledge replaces Ciaran Clark, who looks to have picked up an injury.

Wilson fouls Arnautovic on the right but the referee plays the advantage as Harnik crosses. It’s a poor one and the ball is cleared. Austria are furious that the free kick is not given.
