Artem Fedetskyy comes in behind Gerrard. Almost meets that ball. Risky play by Gerrard letting that one go. Ukraine on the attack again seconds later.
11'
Olexandr Kucher with a strong tackle on Lambert. Another corner for England then, but Ukraine deal with it before looking to break.
10'
Gerrard to Walcott, but the Arsenal player can't pick out Walker on the run. And Ukraine will mop up the danger from deep. Content to keep the ball in their own half.
9'
England have found the net in 15 of their last 16 competitive away games, with the blank coming against Ukraine - 0-1.
8'
Andriy Pyatov back on his feet after some treatment. Cahill forced to get between Hart and Gusev to get the ball away. Decent clearance by the Chelsea defender.

Brilliant run by Walcott. Bounds into the Ukraine box, but Pyatov is off his line to make a brave stop. England quickly on the front foot.

Bright start to the evening for both teams. Hodgson sips a slug of water. That penalty call was a bad one and the wrong one really.

Lambert pack to Gerrard, who uncorks a shot from distance. Plenty of power, but easy enough take in the end for Pyatov.

England in red, Ukraine in yellow. England get the match off and running via Lampard and Gerrard.

A pretty horrendous attempt at singing God Save The Queen by England. To be fair, Ukraine's players also seem to be murdering their respective national anthem. Almost ready for the off then.
19:40
England fans outnumbered 30-1 this evening. A hostile atmosphere in Kiev for this one. Ukraine know a win here would carry them top of Group H above Montenegro and England. A draw would be enough to leave England one point above Montenegro and remain two points clear of Ukraine before the final round of group games at Wembley next month against Montenegro and Poland, who are likely to be out of contention by the time they come to London.

"I can see England winning tonight, but I can also see them losing." Lee Dixon travels all the way to Kiev as a TV pundit to make a very valid point.
19:15
It is a big night for Rickie Lambert, and Eurosport's Desmond Kane believes it is the Southampton striker's first real test in an England shirt.
19:10
With Ukraine expected to try to stifle England, Zenit St Petersburg midfielder and Ukraine captain Anatoliy Tymoshchuk should sit in front of and provide security for his back four. In the attacking third, Yevhen Konoplyanka is likely to give England headaches, coming inside from his position on the left wing, while towering centre defender Yevhen Khacheridi will be a threat at set pieces.

Here is what Ukraine coach Mykhaylo Fomenko makes of matters: "San Marino and England are completely different. We previously played San Marino but we know that England have a very strong team and we know that this game will be completely different to our last one. You can’t compare previous games with current games."
