Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of England’s Group F clash with Slovenia at Wembley. Gareth Southgate’s men can book their place in next summer’s World Cup with a victory tonight – and could even afford to draw if Slovakia fail to pick up three points in Scotland.  It’s not been the most exciting qualifying pool, but the Three Lions won’t care if they get the job done in front of their home crowd. Kick off 19:45 BST.

The crowd respond as Rashford drives at his man. The Man United starlet breaks into the box, but this time Struna sticks to his task and denies the forward a shot at goal.

Incidentally, Kane is England's top scorer under Gareth Southgate with five goals; more than twice as many as any of his team-mates.

Kane desperate to mark the occasion with a goal. Ahead of the contest, he spoke about how special tonight would be for him: "Growing up as a kid you always want to play for your country and dream about being captain, especially walking out at Wembley. That will be an amazing thing for me personally,"

At the other end, Kane turns sharply to earn himself a yard of space and wastes little time firing in a low 25-yard drive that Oblak is down well to stop.

That was a good spell for Slovenia. They had looked like putting 10 men behind the ball but know they need to be more adventurous if they are to keep their dream of claiming the play-off berth alive.

Josip Ilicic makes a clever dart to the right of the penalty area and is rewarded with a corner as Hart came to block. Replays showing the keeper didn't get the ball and appeared to catch the forward's heel. Let off for England?

HEAD-TO-HEAD: England have won four of their five meetings with Slovenia, though they did draw the most recent clash 0-0 in Ljubljana 12 months ago. The Three Lions have won both of the previous showdowns at Wembley; 2-1 in 2009 and 3-1 three years ago.

A succession of England corners fail to reap rewards. The hosts have not yet found the final ball, but continue to dominate.

First sighting of the Ox on the right and he follows Rashford's example, outpacing his man before winning a corner from his attempted cross. The visitors being pegged back right from the off.

Elsewhere, Germany are 1-0 up in Northern Ireland... already...
    4'
Rashford takes charge of the set piece himself, but his delivery doesn't cause Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak any concerns.

Kane notched 13 goals in eight games for club and country in September and he's eager to continue that type of devastating form over a sustained period. He said: "You look at someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, who is getting to the age now where people think he should be slowing down, but if anything he is picking up. Look at his physical condition. I want to maintain my performance over a long period of time."
