Nothing wrong with Reece James but when a team is defending deep, full backs are auxiliary wingers and no one English player who can put a ball into the box like the Liverpool man - James Ward-Prowse might be second best and it will be interesting to see him tonight. Even if it is thought TAA is a liability against the better teams, if there is a game where England are the big favourites and need goals he has to be in the starting xi.

So it looks like the flattest of back fours from Gareth Southgate tonight in a 4-1-4-1. Phillips holding, then Ward-Prowse, Mount, Lingard and Sterling behind Calvert-Lewin who should at least get the chance to fill his boots tonight.
