Ronaldo goes down to ground under a challenge by Coleman but referee Jesus Gil Manzano tells him to get back on his feet. Coleman v Ronaldo has been a constant duel in this game so far.

Ireland try to play the ball out the back but almost cave in under Portugal's high press, forcing Bazunu to hoof clear. Moments later, Ronaldo has a shot on goal from the edge of the box, but Coleman makes a timely intervention, sliding in to block it!

Duffy and Ronaldo challenge in an aerial duel and it's a Portugal free-kick. Silva lofts a ball into the path of Ronaldo off the shoulder and gets a left-footed shot away from a tight angle which Bazunu parries behind. The following corner comes to nothing.

Appeals for an Ireland corner are shot down as Doherty makes a positive run down the right flank. It did look a corner as Palhinha booted the loose ball clear.

Portugal have enjoyed 75 per cent posession so far with Ireland yet to really get going. The hosts are evidently wary of Portugal's attacking threat and that man Ronaldo...

Ronaldo is booed as he gets onto the ball. He makes a darting run into the box and surges past Coleman before the Everton defender scrambles back to make an important sliding tackle. The corner is played short and it's worked to Guedes, but his shot is blocked.

A dangerous through ball from Doherty is dummied by Hendrick and cleared behind by Pepe for a corner. The cross swung in is nodded on by Duffy but cleared by the former Real Madrid defender.

A tough challenge from Stevens leaves Guedes in a bit of discomfort and Portugal can continue to ping the ball around in Ireland's half.

Portugal have started on the front foot in front of a full house at the Aviva Stadium. Already the home support are creating a hostile atmosphere on a chilly evening in Dublin.
