If Brazil beat Cameroon 1-0 and Mexico beat Croatia 3-1. Brazil and Mexico will have to draw lots to determine who finish first and second in the group. The last time Brazil failed to score in successive World Cup matches is 40 years ago, when they lost 2-0 against Netherlands in the 1974 World Cup second group stage and then lost 1-0 against Poland in the third-place decider.

Cameroon and Brazil have met on four previous occasions. Brazil have won three matches. Cameroon are on one win. Their last meeting, at the 2003 Confederations Cup (19 June 2003), was won 1-0 by Cameroon, who celebrated an 83rd minute strike by Samuel Eto'o at the Stade de France in Saint Denis. Cameroon is the only African country that has ever beaten Brazil in a senior international match.

Volke Finke (Cameroon): "I want to present another side of this team against Brazil, this is about discipline, we have to play 11 versus 11. [On the bust-up between his players during the Croatia match] The behaviour of some of them was not at all satisfying. It's unacceptable to see that kind of thing."

On the face of it, this looks like an easy task for Brazil with Cameroon in complete disarray. Their troubles began before they even left home when the players, having snubbed Prime Minister Philemon Yang, then refused to get on their expensively-chartered aircraft for Brazil in a protest over money. It only got worse once they made it to Brazil. After losing 1-0 to Mexico, they were eliminated in a shambolic 4-0 defeat to Croatia where Alex Song was sent off in the first half for striking an opponent and full back Benoit Assou-Ekotto appeared to headbutt team mate Benjamin Moukandjo near the end of the match.

Cameroon now can’t qualify but Brazil will need to win to be sure of topping the group with Croatia and Mexico still in contention.

This is Brazil's 100th World Cup match. They are the second team to reach this milestone. Germany reached 100 in their opening match at this World Cup.

Felipe Scolari (Brazil): "Neymar cannot win or lose on his own, he is part of the group. His potential is better than the others’ at times and they are aware of that, but he will win or lose with the group. We will keep working with Neymar, working to win, and making sure we make all efforts to do better as a team around him... I think the team has played 10 per cent better [against Mexico] than when we played Croatia. The team is doing better, we are improving and we have good quality. I was happy with what I saw."

So Hulk returns after missing the Mexico match through injury. Fred and Paulinho also start despite pressure from Bernard and Willian. Samuel Eto’o misses out on a starting place and Alex Song is suspended.
