HALF TIME: France 1 Honduras 0. Deschamps' side deserve their lead at the break, and will fancy their chances of tallying up a few more in the second half. Honduras have tried their best to barge and kick France out of the game. It hasn't worked.

Three minutes stoppage time to be played at the end of the first half.

The goal had been coming for France. The only surprise is that it has taken them this long to open the scoring. In truth Honduras haven't been up to much. This could be a mauling in the second half.

GOAL! France 1 (44 mins - Karim Benzema) Honduras 0. Benzema has to wait an age to take the spot kick, but in the end sends Valladares the wrong way from 12 yards to put his team ahead before the break.

SENT OFF! Wilson Palacios (Honduras) - second bookable offence

PENALTY TO FRANCE! Palacios barges into the back of Pogba.
    41'
Honduras centre back Bernardez is down on the ground receiving treatment after jarring his knee making an interception from Debuchy.
    40'
Benzema takes a diagonal pass on his chest, weighs up his option before shooting at goal from a tight angle. The effort is blocked and France pass up another chane. He had Matuidi to pass to. Should have picked him out.
    39'
Izaguirre has been Honduras' only attacking outlet in this first half. He's had the freedom of the left wing for much of the game, but his teammates have been slow to get the ball out to him.
    38'
Honduras aren't capable of stringing more than a couple passes together. Their attacking moves essentially consist of a pass out to the fullbacks, who lump the ball forward or down the channels. Limited.
    37'
You just wonder if Giroud should have started as well as, or instead of, Benzema for this game. The Arenal striker's link-up play is much stronger than that of Benzema. France could do with some of that right now.
    36'
Griezmann plays a neat little pass into Matuidi, who in turn tries to square the ball back to Benzema. The pass is cut out before it can reach the Real Madrid striker. Why didn't Matuidi take the shot on himself?
    35'
Benzema has had a poor first half. He's seen little of the ball, but for a man of his stature and size he's held it up poorly whenever he has had the ball. He needs to start running the channels a bit more.
    34'
Palacios plays a good give-and-go with Najar, but the return pass is played too far infront of him and Sakho goes to ground to make the challenge on the edge of his own penalty box.
    33'
France are still holding possession well, but are lacking a final product in the final third. Although credit has to be given to Honduras, who are battling hard. Sometimes a little too hard.
    32'
That incident between Palacios and Pogba has almost relieved the pressure that had been building up. France had been dominating but now the game has almost fallen into a bit of a dip.

Pogba gets away with it, perhaps by virtue of Palacios's shocking initial tackle. The France midfielder is showing the stud marks he has left on his leg. Even still, Pogba can't be lashing out like that.
