Vargas gets forward and instead of looking for Xhaka who is free in the box, goes for goal and gets it all wrong as he blasts the ball over the bar.

Choupo-Moting takes on Akanji on the byline before trying to squeeze an effort beyond Sommer, but the goalkeeper makes himself big to beat the ball behind for a Cameroon corner.

This time Switzerland take advantage of the early dominance! Once more Xhaka starts the move in the middle of the park and finds Remo Freuler with a progressive pass, the midfielder turns and quickly plays in Shaqiri out wide, who drives forward toward the byline and pulls a low cross back for Embolo in front of goal who can't miss.

No changes from either side as Cameroon kick off the second half.

Widmer delivers a cross toward Embolo at the back post who doesn’t threaten at all with the header, but Gouet, with no Swiss players near him, awkwardly puts the ball behind for a corner.

Embolo threatens to get a shot away from close range, but Castelletto recovers and puts in a perfectly-timed challenge to deny the forward.

Cameroon are on the front foot once more and right-back Collins Fai bombs forward to steer a cross towards Toko-Ekambi arriving in the six-yard box, but Widmer does excellently to get his body in the way and block the cross. It would have been a tap-in for Toko-Ekambi.

After a few minutes under the cosh, Xhaka unlocks a Swiss attack. Ruben Vargas drives forward down Switzerland's right flank and waits for Silvan Widmer to overlap, he slips the ball to the full-back who delivers a low cross but Jean-Charles Castelletto clears up for Cameroon.

Mbeumo and Choupo-Moting link up well on the right and the former unlocks Hongla who shoots from a tight angle which Sommer gets down to, and as Toko-Ekambi threatens to pounce on the rebound, Switzerland get the ball clear.

They break forward and get the ball out to Mbeumo on Cameroon’s right, he tries to wriggle his way into the box but instead finds Samuel Gouet on the edge of the box, he slips the ball out wide to Martin Hongla but the attempted cross is blocked and goes behind for a corner.

The earlier chance wasted by Toko-Ekambi seems to have boosted Cameroon's confidence going forward, and they've had the only two clear-cut chances of the game.
