Vettel then tops opening practice from Hamilton, Button, Webber, Kubica and standings leader Alonso.

Behind him it is Hamilton from Button from Webber - and the Aussie has come in.

Everyone out looking for a late quick lap - especially the title rivals. Vettel has improved massively to 1:42.760.

Button has brake issues but they have not stopped him taking third spot.

Hamilton comes in.

Schumi up to seventh, but still over a second off the benchmark time with 1:44.199.

Hamilton closes on Vettel's time with 1:43.369.

Vettel hits traffic as he seeks to improve.

Hamilton back second with 1:43.772, splitting the Red Bulls once more.

Vettel back on track and top of the pops with 1:43.477.

Hamilton yet to set a truly fast lap but this could be one... 1:43.862 for second spot.

Championship leader Alonso fifth ahead of Schumi. Kubica fourth behind Button.

Button has gone third fastest including the fastest middle sector. Vettel is back in the garage.

Hamilton out and ready to begin a flying lap. He does like to leave it to the latter stages of practice.

Rosberg third behind the Red Bulls, while Webber comes in. His time is almost two-tenths quicker than Vettel's.

Button fourth briefly before Schumi bumps him down a spot.
