Thanks for joining us today. We're back at 16:00 UK time on Sunday for the Brazilian GP, and we'll be hoping to draw the 2011 season to a close with a bang.

Brazilian GP grid: 1-Vettel, 2-Webber, 3-Button, 4-Hamilton, 5-Alonso, 6-Rosberg, 7-Massa, 8-Sutil, 9-Senna, 10-Schumacher (who didn't bother with a lap).

Pole position yet again for Sebastian Vettel, who does a remarkably convincing job of sounding excited (rather than blase) on the team radio. Hats off - the man is absolutely brilliant.

Senna P9... Button P3... Webber P2... Hamilton P4...
0'
Alonso goes P3, Massa P6...

Vettel 1:11.918!! The rest are still out, but there's no beating that.
2'
At this stage, we look pretty much nailed on for Seb vettel's 15th pole position of the year, but everyone is out for a final qualifying lap.
4'
Grey clouds but no rain. How they stand: 1-Vettel, 2-Webber, 3-Button, 4-Alonso, 5-Hamilton, 6-Rosberg, 7-Sutil, 8-Massa, 9-Schumacher, 10-Senna.
5'
Wow, 1:12.268 from Vettel - stonking lap.
6'
A two-lap stint for Rosberg and his second effort is much better - 1:13.1. Vettel 1:12.268.
7'
Rosberg 1:16.581, and that is nowhere, even accounting for extra fuel.
9'
Rosberg is the first man out, and he is desperate to lay down a marker.

Here we go! Ten minutes to decide the front of the grid!

That's the end of Q2, and these drivers are out: 11-Di Resta, 12-Barrichello, 13-Alguersuari, 14-Buemi, 15-Petrov, 16-Kobayashi, 17-Perez. So no heroics from barrichello, but Bruno Senna is through to Q3.

There's the chequered flag, but still plenty of cars on track including Rubens Barrichello.

Schumacher climbs into 10th at the expense of Paul Di Resta. But will it be enough?
1'
Massa is eighth and not safe, and he's on a poor lap now. He'll need another and could end up getting embarrassed here...
3'
Alguersuari improves, but not enough to climb into the top 10. He remains 12th.
5'
Everybody except Alguersuari is in the pits, preparing for another late blast. There is indeed no rain yet.
8'
In danger: 11-Schumacher, 12-Alguersuari, 13-Buemi, 14-Kobayashi, 15-Petrov, 16-Barrichello, 17-Perez.
