'Pole?' asks Lewis, stunned. 'We're as surprised as you mate' says his engineer as Hamilton looks on. Terrific, terrific lap.
-
He can't do it! Hamilton's 1:19.388 beats Vettel by 0.038 seconds! What a lap!
-
HAMILTON ON POLE! ONLT VETTEL LEFT....
-
Alonso only good enough for fourth...
-
GROSJEAN JUMPS ROSBERG FOR SECOND!!
-
ROSBERG - SECOND!

Raikkonen 1:19:8 and that's P2 for now. SESSION OVER...
1'
Rosberg even quicker still!
1'
Raikkonen quickest in sector one, but it was in sectors two and three where Vettel made his time...
2'
WEBBER NOT GOING! His KERS problem won't be fixed in time, and there's no point wasting tyres. He won't be happy at all with that.
3'
The drivers begin to fan out for their final attempts at pole.
4'
Webber and Ricciardo ended up not setting lap times, but the top eight as it stands is: Vettel, Hamilton, Rosberg, Grosjean, Raikkonen, Massa, Alonso, Perez
5'
WOW! Seb Vettel puts in a 1:19.506! That's a serious time. He was the only man on new softs, his rivals had used rubber, but still - that's a lot for his rivals to make up.
6'
Sure enough Hamilton, Rosberg and Grosjean eclipse him - in that order. Alonso behind, however.

Raikkonen sets 1:20.553 - that's the fastest so far, but given we've seen laps eight-tenths quicker, it's not going to put him on pole.
8'
(Used) softs for Raikkonen, and the only man not going out just yet is Seb Vettel.
9'
First men out are Webber and Ricciardo. Perez on mediums, presumably thinking of the race and not (unsurprisingly) pole position.

The top 10 - Two Lotuses, two Mercedes, two Red Bulls, two Ferraris: Plus the Toro Rosso of Ricciardo and Perez in the McLaren, who both times has bagged the last available spot...
