All set for the second session? A good morning for the McLarens of Lewis Hamitlon and Jenson Button, coming home at the front with the Red Bulls of championship leader Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber third and fourth. Ferrari will surely be looking to pick up the pace at Monza this afternoon, though, having only managed seventh and eighth fastest this morning.

Into the closing stages now, and Daniel Ricciardo has yet to complete a lap. The Australian's HRT car has got electrical problems.
21'
Vettel and Hamilton are taking a time out but Schumacher, Massa and Alonso are all still out on track. Time is starting to run out now...
24'
Vettel ousts Hamilton from top spot with a lap of 1:24.010, and the Englishman is prevented from replying when he is obstructed by Alguersuari, and returns to the garage to pause for breath.
26'
Alonso drags himself up to sixth place with a lap of 1:24.739. Hardly challenging the leaders, though.
28'
Vettel goes second behind Hamilton with a time of 1:24.189.

Hamilton back into the lead! A time of 1:24.024 puts him on course a morning and afternoon session double. But there's plenty of time for that to change.
30'
Vettel is back out in the action but is failing to make any inroads into Schumacher's time at the moment.
32'
Leader Schumacher is 19-thousandths of a second faster than his former team-mate Massa in second place.
