Vettel extends his lead at the top of the World Championship to 112 points with Alonso moving second ahead of Webber, who crashed out in the sister RB7. Button joins Webber on 167 points - only five behind Alonso - but has won two races while the Australian is yet to win this year, so the Briton is third in the standings.

Webber on the incident which damaged his nose: "I got a good run down the straight and tried to go down the outside. I then came across to attack the inside into the corner but Felipe came across... I tried to bail out of the move at turn two but the kerb is so high so I had nowhere to go and there was contact."

Vettel four and a half seconds clear of Schumacher after the leader's final stop. Schumacher has to come in again for harder tyres.
