Good morning and welcome to our live text commentary of the second Free Practice of the inaugural South Korean Grand Prix! It's 1:40pm in Korea Standard Time, and we're 20 minutes away from the start of FP2!

Kobayashi goes fifth fastest with a 1:41.425, and appears to be on his option tyres. Rather early for that sort of thing...

We're hearing endless complaints about the pitlane and entrance at the moment, with both Mercedes drivers - Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg - saying that changes have to be made for next year, as the visibility at the pit entry is tricky to say the least. There's also plenty of concerns about how slippery the dust-strewn pits could get if the weather turns for the worse this weekend.

Robert Kubica lies second fastest (1:41.494), with Jensen Button third (1:41.706), and Rubens Barrichello (1:41.757) back in third and fourth

McLaren team to Hamilton: "Lewis, you are the fastest car on the circuit." Not any more you're not, Fernando Alonso is quickest with a 1:41.153!

Timo Glock misses the apex on the first turn, and runs wide off the track. Twitchy.

Hamilton goes faster with a 1:45.093, and stays out for another lap. He was the last to post a time in the first session, he's been one of the first in the second.

Hulkenberg goes fastest with an early 1:46.436

There's 18 cars out on the track at the moment on their installation laps, and already some of the drivers are looking twitchy. They're going to be pushing themselves harder in this session, with lighter fuel loads, on a slippery surface. Expect some spins!

Jaime Alguersuari emerges from the pit to signal the start of this second free practice session! he immediately runs wide...

It's going to be a familiar spectacle for F1 aficionados out there run, with teams running the softer tyre at first with a light fuel load, then put the heavier fuel in towards the end of the session. Expect some faster times!

It's 23 degrees celsius in Yeongam at the moment, with the track temperature hovering around 34. The big talking point earlier this morning in FP1 was the slippery layer of dust and dirt on this Korean International Circuit - with drivers comparing the conditions to those of a wet track.

The track in Yeongam has been designed by German architect Hermann Tilke, and is the fifth anti-clockwise circuit of the Formula One season, joining Istanbul Park in Turkey, Singapore, Interlagos in Brazil, and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton proved his immediate mastery of South Korea's slippery new Formula One circuit with the fastest lap at the end of the first practice session.
