Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the third and final practice session ahead of qualifying for Sunday's Malayasian Grand Prix.

So, it's world champion Sebastian Vettel who paces the final practice session. Qualifying should be interesting... make sure you join us later on for that one.

Hamilton can't better his time as his tyres go on the final lap.

There's the flag, bringing an end to this final practice session.

Hamilton is out and should be able to get one more time in.

It's tight at the top, but here's how things stand: Vettel from Hamilton and then Sutil, Webber, Raikkonen and Di Resta.

Vettel blazes a trail on his mediums and goes top of the timesheets with a 1m36.435.

Plenty of changes to the order now as the medium tyres have an effect. Di Resta moves into fourth, Massa into sixth.

Perez moves up into sixth spot after a decent run on the medium compounds.

Rain in qualifying is become real possibility with clouds building up around the track now.

Sutil looks quick here... he goes second behind Hamilton with a 1m36.588.

Here goes Button on the medium compound. He's followed by the Mercedes pair of Hamilton and Rosberg.

The track goes relatively quiet as preparations for a final burst on the softer option tyres begin in earnest.

Both Red Bulls have done three-lap runs, with Webber the better of the two.

Just under 20 minutes remaining and here's how things stand: Hamilton, Webber, Rosberg, Button, Sutil and Raikkonen.

Showers are approaching the area, but none are forecast to land directly on the circuit.

Hamilton too, and the Brit clocks 1m36.568 to go top.

Webber's out on some medium compound tyres.

Marussia's Chilton becomes the first to try out the medium compound, which is the softer option tyre here this weekend.

So Rosberg warms things up with a fast lap of 1m36.949 - that's the quickest so far this session.

Nico Rosberg's race engineer on team radio: "Need more brake energy, Nico, not enough brake temperature at the moment."
