It's a great story, regardless - Schumacher was 0.080s quicker than Webber. Thanks for your company throughout qualifying, and be sure to rejoin us for the race itself on Sunday from 12:30 UK time!

This is how they finished, in order: Schumacher, Webber, Rosberg, Hamilton, Grosjean, Alonso, Massa, Raikkonen, Maldonado, Vettel.

SCHUMACHER FASTEST! He will not be on pole after incurring a grid penalty in Barcelona, but he is the fastest. Pole position goes to Mark Webber, and the Australian will hold the ascendancy for the Grand Prix on Sunday! WEBBER IS ON POLE!
1'
Alonso goes fifth fastest in the Ferrari, and Vettel will not set a time by the looks of things. Webber is flying round, and he looks set to make a real impact!
2'
Raikkonen is on a very hot lap as he flies through the final sector, but he left himself with work to do and is sixth fastest. Massa is eighth fastest, and Alonso is leaving it very late!

There are so many cars in the mix - it really is quite incredible! Vettel, Alonso and Massa are out on the track now, and it gets more hectic still.
4'
Hamilton is third with 1:14.940 and it is very tight now with Vettel, Alonso and Massa all going for just the one run, by the looks of things.
5'
Rosberg trumps Grosjean with a stunning 1:14.572, and this is incredible action at Monaco!
6'
Romain Grosjean tops the timesheet! He sets a time of 1:14.639 and that is hugely impressive.
7'
Maldonado goes quickest with a time of 1:15.245, and Hamilton can only zip in narrowly slower than the mark set by the Williams driver.
8'
Only Ferrari and Red Bull bide their time and make a delayed entrance with a very hectic track.

This is official: Pastor Maldonado has been handed a 10 place grid penalty for Sunday's Grand Prix. Race stewards, including Williams' 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell, ruled the Venezuelan had caused an avoidable collision in final practice when his Williams chopped in front of the Sauber of Mexican Sergio Perez.

Q3 is underway in Monaco, and Rosberg and Schumacher fly out of the traps! This is where we find out who will be on the crucial pole position for Sunday!
-
At the front, Massa tops the timesheets with Rosberg in second and Maldonado in third. Webber is fourth, Schumacher fifth, Alonso sixth and Hamilton seventh.
-
The drivers to miss out are, in order: Hulkenberg, Kobayashi, Button, Senna, di Resta, Ricciardo, Vergne. It's an absolute shocker for Button, and he is very despondent in the garage.

The end of Q2 sees Jenson Button miss out on the top 10 as he finishes in 13th, and he is extremely disappointed. Raikkonen goes 10th, with Massa and Rosberg leading the way!
1'
Button can only do a 1:15.536 and remains down in 11th place while Vettel improves to 1:15.234. It's extremely tense!
2'
Massa's 1:14.911 still sees him at the top of the timesheet, with Rosberg and Maldonado slightly slower. Maldonado is making a fine late run!
3'
Grosjean is hammering it round in the supersofts, but he has yet to make an impact in this session. Massa and Rosberg remain fastest.
4'
There is some debris on the run-off area at the Nouvelle Chicane, so it is okay and does not need retrieving.
