Hello and welcome to live text commentary from the Monte Carlo Grand Prix. The race starts in just 15 minutes.

Away we go under the safety car....

Looks like all the top four are on the super-softs.

Engines are being turned on and again and drivers are revving up. Not too long to go now.

Handshakes on the grid between Perez and Alonso - looks like Alonso is effectively accepting the blame there and will give the place back.

Notice through from race control - we will resume in 10 minutes.

Martin Whitmarsh believes Alonso has been told he should give up sixth place to Perez over that incident. The race will resume behind a safety car, so it shhould be feasibel to sort that out if true.

The sweeper is out removing the last of the debris by the barrier.

Teams can change tyres here. That favours Webber, who was the earliest into the pits - he had 20 laps on the clock.

Big clean-up required here. Not sure quite how long it will until we can restart.

A red flag means the drivers roll back to the starting grid and the race will require a formal restart. Mechanics can come out, cars can be switched off.

Maldonado out of the car safely - he flew briefly at Tabac, having just caught the wheel on the Marussia and lost control. The barrier will have to be repaired here.

RED FLAGS! CHILTON AND MALDONADO HAVE CRASHED!

Alonso says it was clear he only did it to avoid the collision - Perez says it was to keep the place. The stewards will make the decision if both men dig their heels in.

Feeling is that Alonso should probably concede the place to Perez as he only kept it by going off-track.

Perez tries to pass Alonso! Makes a move at the same point that he got Button. Alonso over the chicane to cover.

A train of cars in close proximity to Raikkonen - Button, 0.7 down on Perez, is the furthest apart from the man in front.

Button on the radio checking whether the nosecone is OK - his engineers tell him it is.

PEREZ PASSES ALONSO! Through the Nouvelle Chicane, and that was a moment of brilliant opportunism.

Button and Alonso touch! Just half a chance as Alonso looked for a way around Raikkonen at Mirabeau. Both men ok.
